I eventually discovered that you can specify which events it assigns to a new person, but I had quite a lot of people records before I discovered that which had the default events attached - I can't remember exactly what they were, but I think they might have been born, christened, married (where a couple), died, and buried. Even after I found how to choose which events are added to a new person, I still might not have the information. So to answer your question to David - for example, one might have event: born, but no date or place, in fact nothing at all but the type of event. -- J. P. Gilliver.
