Perhaps I am missing something here but why would you want to import a blank field? I delete blank fields as I enter people in my database and then add a new field if I subsequently discover some previously unknown information such as a baptism date. An event that is accepted is Married. Often we do not have dates or other information but we knew or believe that this is the fact for a couple. Similar we can find also other events I have default under Edit the option to put at the editscreen bron, christian, engaged, confirmation and deat. That even if I event have no date, location etc conected to the events at the moment I add a new person. And i do not delete them. -- Otto Jørgensen http://www.bkwin.info/ All email is checked by NORTON

[] When you say you delete blank fields as you enter people - you do know that you can set which fields appear when you add a new person? Apologies if you did know that, but I spent ages deleting such fields before I discovered (or, probably, was told) this, and thought it might help others. -- J. P. Gilliver. Yes I did know that. I have set the fields to appear as birth, death and marriage and I picked the information up from this forum. As I say, I don't like blank fields so unless I have a source or can make a note about an event then I delete it. The most common one I delete is death until I find some evidence of death when I reinstate the field. All the best.
