I haven't really tried any of the others, but I _am_ very reluctant to do so (I don't think "trying" is really on: unless one is only a beginner with less than, say, 100 people, I suspect it's a matter of moving to, not trying), because I _suspect_ the support with _any_ of the others will be nowhere as good. Usually relying on other users _only_, or no support at all. > >Several months ago someone else complained that BK was falling behind >the others due to its lack of bells and whistles and failure to adopt >the latest programming capabilities. I love BK, but can't honestly say I'd recommend it to a new user, _because_ it is _so_ lacking in things they might expect. I realise this is going to cause a fight here! Things like the way it isn't clickable from the various charts it can produce, its idiosyncratic image handler (though it can now use an external one) ... >everyones top priority. Don't worry - it doesn't look at all likely! I would rather _pay for_ a BK7 than buy one of the competitors. But I don't think it is going to come along soon - JS can only do so much, and the excellent support of BK6 must take up all the time of one person. But remember, such things have happened in the past: BK5 - and DOS-compatible versions - _did_ have their _development_ stopped eventually, though _support_ in the form of answer to "how to" etc. questions does still occasionally appear. > >Rennie Brown >West Union, WV [] -- J.
