Using a registered BK 6.4 (I think it was 6.4.10), when trying to review a gedcom I made from within BK, the import failed with the message, "Error during CREATE of BKGEDTMP.TMP STAT=25 Try stopping BK and Starting BK again." Restarting BK yielded the same result. Upgrading to BK 6.5.6 also fails with the same message. The import works fine on my wife's computer, running BK 6.5 installed from the CD. My guess is that something is garbled in the files that BK is using, but not in a file that would have been reinstalled with an updated version of BK. Any ideas? Thank you.
Robert, A few things to check 1) How much free disk free space on the drive you are trying to create the database on. Hopefully this is new database, not an import to an existing one. 2) Using Windows Explore search for BKGEDTMP.TMP, if you find it delete it and try the import again. Any ideas? When youu update was that only an update or did you make a total installation all over the old version. And where are your database located on you PC and on the PC to your wife. I believe the error message has something more text, e.g. path not found ? -- Otto Jørgensen http://www.bkwin.info/ All email is checked by NORTON
To Robert Ginn On a few computers, you might get that error if a folder name is over 8 letters long. Try this test. >From the main BK screen pick File, Open Database, in the create box type exactly C:\BK6\Data\Test Click Create Then do the gedcom import.
