To David, Or you could install LibreOffice or OpenOffice. Both are free and both offer the same possibilities as MS Office. You can open .DOC or .XLS or .PPS files with both and save in these formats as well. I have no problem opening an .RTF filewith LibreOfficefrom within BK. Gilles de C. Unfortunately there is no solution for my problem, which isn't really so much of a problem in that I can still create an RTF file in BK and save it. Then I can open Word to work on the file. It's just that after saving the file, BK can't call up Word. > > The problem is that I have MS Word Starter, which is not the same as MS Word. It is a limited free version and purposely bundled with Excel in such a way that either can ONLY be opened from the desktop icons. There is NO user-accessable exe file to open it. > > If I want to use BK to open Word I'll either have to upgrade to the paid version of Word, or try to find the disc for my older Word 2003 and instal that. > > David Youse > > > > > Effectus bonus addo bonus
