    3. Yes, and if you choose "ancestors of a person plus family of each ancestor" you'll get all your cousins, aunts & Aunts plus all the way up the line. OR is you're just looking for your cousins & aunts & uncles & ancestors but not their families choose "ancestors of a person" starting with yourself, then "descendants of a person" starting with your grandfather. Try one out and see if that's what you are looking for. Your own family might be doubled but you can delete those. 3. What I want is to have the descent of the furthest ancestor on my father's side with the furthest ancestor on my mother's side in one file including all related persons. In other words, I want my ascendance with all the brothers and sisters of my ancestors with their own children. This way, I could exclude all persons in my database that are not really linked to me. Would it be easier to extract the data to a new subfolder rather than going through a gedcom file? Gilles

    3. To Gilles On both the Split database and the Gedcom export, you can select multiple groups at the same time. Go to one of those and on the select person pick Descendants of your father's ancestor. Then click the same button again and pick Descenants of your mother's ancestor Each time you select more people, then number of selected people will increase. It will not duplicate people (if you select yourself two or three times, it will still copy you only one time) Then after you have selected everyone you want, THEN click Copy.
