Help. I was in BK (fairly recent version, can't check right now without some help - maybe one or two updates ago) putting a note on someone. I entered the note and saved it. Then, wanted to get back to my list of notes and noticed only that one note open would appear. I exited that person and went to her spouse. He showed the same thing. One open note, no list of notes. I went back to her and still saw the one note. So, tried to exit the program and see if opening it up again would fix this. I then got an error message as follows: Write protect your existing backup copies of data files. Make a new backup set of data files. Do not overwrite existing backup. You may need to restore your best backup of your data. File: BKPERSON.DT6 Incompatible mode. Btrieve error 88 xcode = 0 BKPERSON.DT6 GETLAST STAT =3 person GETSTAT ERROR = 3 My data is linked to Dropbox and my other computer. I tried to open the program again and got the above messages and an empty database. I closed it before checking the version. My question - since my computers are both linked to my Dropbox, I cannot use that as a backup to restore from, right? I think the last backup besides my copy on dropbox was a backup of my dropbox on my desktop computer prior to our hard drive crashing and the auto backup being lost. Not the actual backupped files, just the set up of the auto backup to happen. That was back in April. It should still be on the that drive. I was gone for three months and have been playing catchup since to get that desktop back to normal and doing backups. I'm afraid I may regret that here. So, is my thinking right that I will need to restore from my backup file back in April? If so, I'm confused about what the error messages above are telling me I need to do. Thanks for any help. Patty
Unplug your Ethernet cable reboot and try opening BK and trying it again Sent from my iPod On Sep 22, 2012, at 1:12 PM, geneamom@comcast.net wrote: > > > Help.
