Dear Gilles, It is not clear for me what is your purpose to make a separate gedcom. In my databare maybe 50 or 60 family-trees. I make only a gedcom of a part of my database if I send this to an other person. If you want to make an separate database on your own computer of a part, is my question why. At the moment that you make separate family-trees in divers BK-files you make it more complicate for yourself if you have additions. I advise always make one database of all your genealogy-information. My database contains more than 80.000 people. Is it possible to add two branches to a Gedcom file? For example, I want to extract my personnal data starting at both my father's farthest ancestor AND my mother's farthest ancestor. And what would it be easier, to extract to a Gedcom file or to extract to a new database? Thank you for your help.
