I've always wondered what "Father 1" and such, meant. Is adoption the only reason you'd have more than one? That seems a strange feature, but I guess one could use it, for Abe Lincoln, for instance, to show a cordial relationship to both Nancy Hanks and Sarah Bush. Still, it seems an awkward and not useful genealogical construction. Dear Bob, You are wrong. For some people like me it is a very useful opportunity. I have as result of the Shoa (WW II) natural parents and foster parents. I like to research both families, but my children are very happy that I can show now my relation to my natural parents as to my foster parents. For them the last one are the real grandparents. You can see it on my site http://www.maxvandam.info/ . Look to Max van Dam married to Bertha Henriette Bromet. For my site is the input the gedcom of BK. With my best regards, Max van Dam Rechovot Israel http://www.maxvandam.info/ ----- Original Message ----- From: Robert Kirk To: bk@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2012 3:50 AM Subject: Re: [BK] Second set of parents I've always wondered what "Father 1" and such, meant.
