Dave BACKUP your current BK database to external media. Disconnect the external media and put in a safe place. Download the file from Ancestry as a GEDCOM. Create a new BK Database Import the GEDCOM from Ancestry into this new BK database Now in BK use the "Compare 2 databases" Please note the direction of the compare. The database on the right will be "READ ONLY" Good luck. It takes a little playing to understand it. Thanks a lot, Barry, Jim and Frances for your suggestions. I have only ever done 1 ged file from Ancestry and never a compare of databases as usually I can put things into BK and that is it. Lately though, things have been added into the Ancestry file and now the two are in some cases vastly different. My computer is going to be changed in the next few days. Windows 7 is disappearing and it's time to move to windows 10. Would have kept the old one but then like the wonderful one horse shay something else would have quit. Thanks again for all your ideas and I will be doing this chore just as soon as the new beast settles here. Dave
