    3. Not entirely BK or genealogy, but they are both crucial to my decision. I find myself car-bound for lengthy periods and even a laptop is too cumbersome to be practical. I want to be able to login to, for example, newspaper apps, which are only Android or Apple. But I would also love it if I could tap into (and edit?) BK. Or other Windows apps? My Windows use would not be resource heavy - BK, Word, Outlook. I am looking for others' experiences in using either a Windows tablet that can use Android apps or vice versa. (In my Windows PCs, BK's files sit under Dropbox.) While writing, I have 7.4 CD on order, updating from 7.3.1. When installing, given that the program Brother's Keeper is in the C drive but the files are under Users\Me\Dropbox\Brother's Keeper 7\Data\(databases), will I need any special installation procedure? 3. Bill, You will find that BK is a simple database engine; as such it needs to be installed separately and independently on each machine you wish to use it on. BK is a "Windows only" application. Does BK7 run on Android? I suspect not. Nor Apple. Your data however is able to reside on any LOCAL Windows drive - not a network or cloud drive. (I'll accept being told I'm wrong here!). Does BK back-Up to network systems? BUT you can use that dataset on a local drive only; That drive might be your USB stik that you use between machines! I use MS-Pro 6 tablet as my 'demo & back-up' device. Manual transfer between machines. Being fully Win-10 (avoid Win-10S > the 'S' means 'Simple!') capable, I use all the windows apps, drives and the like. (OneDrive, Google & drop-box etc). However the movement of the BK database will need to be achieved manually - either by flat files or zip files - to & from the cloud to your tablet. You will need to identify your MAIN or PRIMARY database should you make edits away from that dataset. However good management of your backups will assure there is only one data set that moves around with you I use an abbreviated path style for my pictures, media & texts, so drive naming is not a problem for me when using the database on different machines. Just make sure the folder path is the same everywhere. I have just purchase Win-Zip 23-Pro. That has the ability to move data & files around anywhere at all, and often can be automated, thereby relieving you of thinking of manual tasks while editing your BK data. Barry P. 3. Bill Adding to what Barry said, your desired setup is going to use a lot of cell data to get items from the cloud while you are traveling. And that's going to a performance hit. 3. To Bill Webster Brother's Keeper will not run on an Android tablet, but it will run on a Surface tablet that has Windows 10. If you have an Android tablet, you could put some reports (files) from BK on the tablet to view, but not change. In Brother's Keeper for Windows you can send many reports to a disk file. In the Descendant Report, Group Sheets, and Custom Lists, set up the report and then pick File, Create TXT file. In the Register Book, Indented Book, and Ahnentafel Book, set up the report and pick File, Create RTF file. Then load the RTF file into Word or Word Perfect. You can make HTML files from Group Sheet, Ancestor Chart, Descendant Box Chart by picking File, Create HTML files. For the Tree charts and Box charts, or ANY report you can send those to a file if you have a PDF driver like the free one from www.pdf995.com and set that up as a printer driver, then in BK pick File, Printer Setup, and pick the PDF driver and then when you click Print, it will make a PDF file.
