I have tinkered with Linux but not used it seriously. You can run a Windows Virtual Machine in Virtual Box software but you still need Windoze. There are other ways to run a Windoze program (e.g. Wine) that don't need Windoze but they are not satisfactory. The same applies to Apple Mac which I now use. I use Linux, and have a Windows Virtual Machine in Virtual Box for BK and a music notation program that I use regularly. It works fine. BK runs more slowly since the BK update. I don't think it's because of 22,000+ names in BK -- it probably has something to do with Windows vs Linux. Wine didn't work well. Virtual Box is fine.
