Remember you can use F8 after you enter a few characters on each line to find existing locations starting with those characters Jim -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Paul J. Using Change Location Globally, you can enter up to 6 different spellings, or entries containing errors, that are already existing in your location directory, and one consistent and correct spelling or format to which you want all of them changed and all the places in your genealogy will all be changed to the new entry or spelling. I put "<village or town or city>, <county (UK) or state (USA)>, country", and any more detail (e. g. "47 Clarges Street") in the event notes for the resided event. (As well as making the F8 function work better, it also means if I do a "locations with events" report, I get things that happened in the same town/village listed together: the "locations with events" report becomes lots of single entries if I put the house number etc. in. Of course, this won't be relevant to those who don't _use_ the LWE report.) -- J. P. Gilliver. I enter addresses with the street or other location in a reverse format eg BRAINTREE, ESSEX, ENGLAND. 78 Lower Railway Street That way when I type brain and press F8 I get all of my Braintree addresses, starting with the generic BRAINTREE, ESSEX, ENGLAND. I also have things like BRAINTREE, ESSEX. The Independent Chapel as a location. I do regret having started all in upper case for the main section, but haven't got the heart to change all of my locations, now. Regards Steve On 11/05/2015 03:30, J. P.
