Jim, I discovered my error after I sent the message to the list. I was looking for a way to create the text file AFTER I had created the preview. It has to be done BEFORE generating the preview. But my request of separating (un-docking?) the preview screen from the rest of BK still stands. Thanks, Charlie Dobie. No, just close the preview, then click File, you can do the rtf still. I always do it this way so I can check for sanity before saving. To Charles Dobie I have the program set up to not show a report while you are editing the data. There are a few reasons for this. However, if you pick File, Create RTF file, you can have the report showing in Word while you edit the database.
