As Windows 10 appears not to run BK 6 and earlier. I am about to undertake the same process. 1. Get BK 7, install it on the desktop and convert your current BK 6 data to BK 7. 2. Copy all the DT7 and DTA files created on old desktop to the new laptop using a memory stick, via Drop Box or other. 3. Install BK7 on the Windows 10 laptop and in the set up tell it where to find the data files converted from version 6 to version 7. 4. Copy the Text, Media, Picture folders with contents from old desktop and place them under the Data folder on new. Read other replies that appear here too.
