Would need the ability to enter place histories, though. A huge change! I'm using BK in the year 2045. I enter someone born say in 1950; I start to enter Newc, and select "Newcastle, Northumberland, England" from the choices that pop up. I enter their death in 2010. I select "same as above" for the location, and "Newcastle, Tyne & Wear, England" appears ... Similarly for places that change name rather than county (or country!): wasn't Brighton called Brighthelmstone at one point? And Aachen used to be Aix-la-chapelle, of course. It would avoid all the angst about how to enter placenames that have different names and details over history, but are the same place, if the prog. itself could be told about the changes (what and when), and automatically show the correct one for the event being entered. Well, I can dream, can't I - it won't be our concern (-:! -- J. P. Gilliver.
