That is not on the list of Names in BK And we have situation when a person change last names, e.g.. have changed from Seterlund Jørgensen to Jørgensen Seterlund. And that is official.. What to use for all that does that. I may be missing the point of the original question, but before BK had the "Names" tab (and actually, before "Windows"), I used quotation marks for the commonly-used name... Robert David "Bert" Smith ...all in the one field. I must admit I have not gone through my database to move these nicknames to the "Names" tab to see how they would print in reports. Yes we used many differennt thing to give the excact information, but in book reports it is not any good idea to make a lot of them. We used BK as the complete database for the family and then want to give information away to relatives in a "normal" without many speciall effects. I used " " for spcial information in the same way as I also use ( ) [ ] In the name tab there are mostly also Word as "known as" and many others, total 19 way to add information to a name. E.g. I use "other name" as "collector" for all misspelling that we find in sources I miss easy way to express what neme is "normaly used" so here we in Scandinavia with an underline for those names. As name written a 100-200 yhears ago are a little different we also nee a way to express a "normalized" name. That is used in our local history books about family and area. Norwat has a lot of them. I believe more than other countries if also looks at hvow small Norway is comparing other countries. And many in USA and other countries haave Ancestors in Norway. And for the history the same person have different speeling and even other names in USA comparing their birthname.
