    3. I know that if you use the 'not married' event, against a couple it will use the word 'partner' instead of 'married' Nowadays 'partner' implies a more permanent relationship.   I want to set  up details of an illegitamate child, when both parents are known,  but where one of the pair was already married to someone else.   Is there any way that a new event {eg called Relationship}  could be created to indicate that a couple had had a relationship which resulted in the child,  and where the link did not show Married or Partner.   Or is there a way of coping with this situation already   Sue  Horsman

    3. John, Leave Brothers Keeper alone, it works perfectly well, always best to be sure you haven't got the same person mentioned half a dozen times (in reality, so many names are duplicated). ( I am _not_ my own granddad ) ? are you sure about that, as it sounds like you are confused. If you don't like it, BK as it is, well choose another program. I have been using Brothers Keeper since 1986, have over 53,000 names and some 4,000 photos recorded, and it all works wonderfully. 3. To Sue Horsman I do not have a different event for a "one night stand" type of relationship. The word Partner might imply a longer relationship, but it could also be a one time sexual partner. So you can use Not Married for any type of relationship whether it is one time, or one week, or several years. I agree, in fact I said it was a useful facility that it shows you other people of the same name: however, when you are entering a parent or child, it isn't going to be the same person! Many of the enhancements JS has put into BK _are_ the result of user requests. (Ability to use an external picture viewer, and show the embedded comments in pictures, are a couple he's added recently as a result of my requests, for example.) 3. To Brenton Nicholson There are several types of descendant reports. The simple descendant report shows one line for each person. On that report you can go to Fields to Include and if you have BK 6.5 there is an option to "Show if divorced or if marriage was annulled" On the Register Book or Indented Book reports, you can go to Fields to Include and pick from the 90 or so events that you want printed. 3. To Max van Dam Overflow means some number is larger that the program was designed for. Normally it means I need to use a different type of variable that can hold a larger number. Sometimes Overflow happens because your Printer Paper size is set to the wrong size (like photo paper 4 by 6 instead of letter size) Do you get the error right away? As soon as you click Preview? Or do you get the error after it processes for several seconds?
