They lived in Cowanshannock as did some other Neal's. I am trying to tie the Neals' together with the Carson's. Hopefully you can help. Matching them up with other families in the 1860 & 1870 censuses with maps of that era I've pretty much pinpointed them being in the Rural Village (Valley) area. My Great Uncle Roy Carson owned Carson Funeral Home. I believe it is now Carson Boyer Funeral Home. DC

Catherine Jubee Bargerstock Neal was married to Robert Neal. He died very young and is buried in the Neal/Neil Family Cemetery with his parents. Catherine Jubee Bargerstock Neal then married John Bittinger, his second wife (Sarah Schreckengost his first wife). Catherine Jubee and John had a very large family. What information do you need? I am willing to share what I have. Catherine Jubee had a son to Conrad Snyder(Samuel Snyder) out of wedlock. Her brothers would not permit her to marry Conrad and she lived with brother Henry Bargerstock. Samuel took the name Neal. He is buried in the Elderton Cemetery with his wife and her family. They had no children. He owned a funeral home in Elderton, PA. Libby

She d 28 Jul 1881& is buried in Toulon, IL. Their oldest child, Philip David Fast was b 9 Apr 1819 in Ashland, OH. David's parents were Christian Fast and Anna Barbara Mason Fast. Christian Fast was the son of Nicklaus Fast. I am descended from Philip's daughter Jane Elizabeth Fast who married James Walter Miller. They married in Stark County, IL but moved to Nodaway County Missouri about 1871 where my grandfather was born. Both James & Jane are buried in the Ohio Cemetery near Burlington Junction, MO. Do any of these people fit into your tree? The names Bittinger, Faust and Miller are in my family also. Some of the Faust descendants retained the spelling Faust and some are known as Fast. Catherine Jubee first married Robert Neal, son of William B. Niel and Margaret Lantz. Robert Neal (Niel) born Jun. 22, 1832 died Jun. 06, 1859 and is buried in the Neal(Niel) Family cemetery. They had one son: James Boyd Neal born Jul. 18, 1858 and died Apr. 03, 1861 buried in the Neal Family Cemetery, Redbank Twp., Armstrong Co. Pa. Catherine Jubee then married JOHN BITTINGER, widower of Sarah Schreckengost. Sarah Schrecengost was the daughter of John Schreckengost and Sarah Turney. Sarah died ca 1860/1861 age 27 years. Catherine & John Bittinger had a very large family, which my daughter in law is part of. Her grandmother was Ruth Bittinger, daughter of John William Bittinger and Kathryn Galey. I was there several times, my gr.grt.grd.father was Henry Durst who is also buried there.
