Ralph Larry Bitner, 70, of Stahlstown, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born July 2, 1941, in Connellsville, a son of the late Allen and Vernise Saylor Bitner. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Elliott Co. Larry served in the Pennsylvania National Guard and was member of County Line Church of the Brethren and the Normalville Rod and Gun Club. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jean Funk Bitner; a daughter, Katy Velkey and her husband, Jeremy, of Stahlstown; two brothers, Vaughn Bitner and his wife, Lynn, of Florida, and Duane Allen Bitner and his wife, Jean, of Greensburg; and three nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the L. BOYD SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 322 Church St., Donegal. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Barry Conn officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4727 State Route 30, Suite 204, Berkshire Center, Greensburg, PA County Line Church of the Brethren ."
