I am trying to find distance Bittner cousins who left Turbotville, Pennsylvania (an area where I grew up and my parents still live at) and settled in Michigan. Here is information on a Henry Bittner: Turbotville, PA 1859-1976 (magazine). Henry Bittner was the first leader of the organized band in Turbotville. Fred Bittner was a member. Both were members before 1900. Whether this Henry is this one or the father is not known. 1891--Deed. Northumberland Co., PA, Book 107, Page 241, March 17, Recorded September 5, 1892. For $1,000 Henry C. Bitner of Lewis Twp. purchased 1/4 Acre Lot in Turbotville from Lucinda Menges, widow of Turbotville. Obituary--Milton Evening Standard, No. 8303, Saturday, April 8, 1916. Available at Milton Public Library, Microfilm Roll No. 44. >From his father's obituary it says that: "Surviving him are two sons and two daughters: Henry, of Jackson, Mich...."
