Hello Barbara here the one that posted the EVANS List. I went to the record office in Duke St Chester (appointment required) and found the 1901 Census entry on fiche, for my EVANS family. I have not got it at home. The 1901 Census for the Wirral area is available on fiche at: Chester record Office tel 01244 602574 Wirral Archives tel 0151 666 3901. Birkenhead Library tel 0151 652 6106. Hope this clarifies the situation. I can be contacted off list barbara.terrace@lineone.net I did not mean my posting to cause confusion Sorry. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dawn Scotting" <pandora@kcbbs.gen.nz> To: <BIRKENHEAD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 28, 2002 12:04 AM Subject: [BKHD] 1901 census on microfiche > Hi Folks > > I doubt very much if Barbara actually has the 1901 census on microfiche > herself, I suspect she has only looked it up at a record office near > her. > > The microfiche is available to view at Kew and Local Record Offices > throughout England and Wales if you can't get onto it on the Internet. > The online service is also available at the Family Records Centre, the > PRO at Kew and at other Service Centres throughout the country. > > You can read more here:- > > http://www.pro.gov.uk/ > > Cheers....Dawn ©¿©¬ > Auckland, NZ > > > ==== BIRKENHEAD Mailing List ==== > Search the archives of Birkenhead-L > http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/ENG/BIRKENHEAD.html > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >
