Greetings from Northern California My name is Jo Anne and I have just discovered this list. My maternal Grandfather, Walter GALLOWAY, was born in Birkenhead in 1886. According to some notes I have, Walter's Grandfather, George GALLOWAY was the Headmaster of St. Andrew's Presbyterian School until 1878 when he established Ashford House School in partnership with John BRUCE M.A. In 1881 the partnership was dissolved and George established Clifton Park School. Could someone advise me how to go about confirming and adding to this information? Were school records kept and where would they be now? I've found George and most of the family on the 1881 CD's at 18 Falcon Grove, Birkenhead. Would their residence be the school? They had two young boys, listed as scholars, boarding with them.
