The following entries are the brother and daughter respectively of my great grandfather Thomas Ramsbottom: No. 916 8782 # In Order Book 925 7 Buried 26 Feb 1866 7 Feb 1882 Name Henry Ramsbottom Elizabeth A.Ramsbottom Age 7 4 Months Mode of Burial Public Grave Public Grave Section 8 8 Grave # 187 473 Is there anyone familiar with the records for this cemetery that could answer a few questions: What is the definition of a public grave? Do families own the plot or are people that are buried in public graves just put in the next available grave? Is any of the information from the two records above sufficient to lead me to the rest of the family’s graves?
