    3. Jane It's Flamank Street which has long since disappeared. Not sure when - probably blitzed by the Luftwaffe in WW2. It lay parallel between Brook Street and Price Street near where they meet Duke Street near Birkenhead Docks. You will find it on the highly recommended 1909 map of Birkenhead (Godfrey Edition, Cheshire Sheet 13.03). This was a strong Irish Catholic enclave and noted for unruliness. Nearest Catholic Church was St Anne's, now closed. Field Street a couple of blocks away (also on the 1909 Godfrey Map) but do not know if it survives. My great grandparents who were Irish too lived there when they arrived from King's County (now Co Offaly) in the late 1880s. Which Catholic Churches, schools are there in those areas ? Christopher is my Grand-Dad .. more that that I don't know .. not even the name of his wife. Has anyone on this list access to electoral roles ? TIA and Regards from Munich, Germany Jane Lachs
