Hi Leigh, I do not know whether there is a connection to this family or not, but I have a family also in 1881 living at 1 Birkenhead Cliffs (which I cannot find on a map) and they are:- Ellen Evans, widow 51 born Barnhill, Cheshire Henry Evans, son 22 labourer born Chester John Evans, son 20 born Macclesfield Rachel Evans, dau 18 born Denbigh. I think that the deseased husband could have been William Evans, gent whi is mentioned on his sone Henry's marriage cert in 1894. not being able to find Henry's birth record, I cannot at the moment, marry up the father with the mother! If you go back to 1851 for example and come across a William and Ellen, I would be most greatful.
