I wanted to say thanks to every one on the list who has been so kind to lend me a hand especially John Oliver who sent me the 1881 census with My carter family on it . I wasn't so quick to believe this was the right family because there were missing names from what my great grandfather had left behind on his brothers and sisters 3 boys were missing Samuel, Joseph, and William, Carter but I went to Roots web world connect with the census information and found his step brother James Tilston listed and he to had 3 other siblings who were younger then him not listed in the census . My question is, is this common for children to not be present in there home ? I did have one instance were my grt, grt, grt grandfather was bound out at the age of ten to the age of 21 on a farm. here in the U.S. did this happen in England to ? or was it a children overload and they lived with other family members John Carter's first marriage resulted in 5 Carter children Elizabeth's first marriage there were 4 Tilston children when they married they had 3 or 4 more . HOLY COW!!!!! my 3 children are enough to make me crazy sometimes . there were only 3 of us and my mother would call one of us and go through all 3 of are names before she got to the right one I could just imagine trying to get through all 14 names : ) so anyway hopefully the Tilston family will contact me and I can get the half sibling part done again thank you ....
