Hi I was hoping that sks with a knowledge of the local history of Birkenhead might be able to tell me a little about Brook Street, Birkenhead in 1853. My ancestor was born there in that year at number 59, the son of a domestic gardener called John EVANS and his wife Mary Ann (a laundress in the 1881 census). They later moved to Borough Road.
