You might try the Birkenhead newspapers (the News and the Addvertiser) on microfilm at the Central Library - they loved to report gruesome accidents like that and there may just be family info too. I think he may have been my great great grandfather. He died Nov 26 1872 at age abt. 45 in Birkenhead... accidentally killed in the falling of an iron plate. The information received from Henry Churton, coroner for South Cheshire, inquest held 27 Nov 1872. The death was registered on the 28th of Nov 1872, A Blaylock, registrar. I was hoping that his death record would reveal his wife's name. Can anyone advise me how to collect the results of a coroner's inquest? A very KS sent me a transcription of a burial record from St. Hilary's of a James Charlesworth, buried Nov 30, 1872, age 34 years. [I wonder if these two are the same and if being killed by an iron plate would render one's age a guess!] Kind regards, Roberta ==== BIRKENHEAD Mailing List ==== Search the archives of Birkenhead-L http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/ENG/BIRKENHEAD.htm l ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourc eid=1237
