Talking of funeral directors has reminded me of something. Has anyone had any experience of trying to find more information about an ancestor from the actual funeral director that buried them? The reason I ask is that I see this subject being raised all the time in online communities over in the USA, they refer to them as "funeral homes", and several seem to have some success from researching this source, BUT I haven't seen any instance on any mailing list here that refers to anyone's attempts at obtaining info from funeral directors in the UK Do funeral directors over here keep their records, does anyone know? if so how long are they kept? I know it all depends on how long the business has been in operation but some of them have had the funeral business handed down to them from many generations back Just a thought Caryl
