David, I am without my main computer so have no acccess to my files at the mo, but I am in contact with Colin Jackson. From memory, his ggg grandmother was Mary Smith who married a Jackson and she died in Rockferry. I'm struggling to remember, but I think Mary was 21 in 1841 and died in 1913. There is a newspaper cutting about it as she was very old when she died, and coincidentally was born at Carr Farm a place I am researching. She had about 13 children or was one of thirteen, sorry that bit is fuzzy, but it would be a pretty good bet to consider these Jacksons as being related to yours? It unlikely I will gain access to my computer for a couple of weeks as I am redecorating my office so everything is in storage (ie blocking up my dining room!) But if you think there is a link, let me know as I do have a phone number for Colin.
