    3. For Gordon and Alan, I must apologise to you both, I did not notice that the mail from Jackson Mitchel had NOT come via the list; he had sent it direct to my address with an attachment. Below is the mail I received from Jackson. The attachment was a copy of the 1871 census enumerator's page. <hi Bob, I don't have the 1861 census, but I have the 1871 census. I'll send you a census jpeg of what I believe are perhaps the parents of your James Piercey. I descend from (it seems) your James' sister Mary 'Piercey', b. Seacombe 1852. (I have her birth certificate). Spellings vary. James I have as being born 17 Mar 1850, Wallasey. On the 1871 census his parents are Joseph 'Percey', 49, b. Picton Cheshire; Elizabeth (nee Wilson), 47 b. Crewe, also Francis 12, Ann 8, Margaret 6. I may be able to look for James on the '71 census later. Seems he's not on the '81, as you probably know. Regards, Jackson> Upon closer inspectoin of the page, I am of the opinion that Jackson's "Margaret" is actually Martha. Consequently, here is a copy of my response:- <Hello Jackson, Thanks for the info it helps a lot. However, I am confused as to where you have got the birthdate of James! in 1871 he would have been 21 and is clearly not on the jpeg that you have sent. Also, the younger daughter appears to be Martha and not Margaret???????????? I can confirm that James is on the 1881 Census, in Sheffield with three children, as far as I am able to ascertain so far he had a total of 10; do you want me to send the information I have so far? The spellings vary:- Percey, Piercey and Pearcey - all the same family. It looks like the enumerator wasn't sure so he put all of them down. LOL. I think that Joseph and Elizabeth appear on the IGI, probably under marriages but I may have seen them as parents to James; either way, the spelling was Percey. CONFUSED? - well so am I.> I hope that this clears up any confusion out there in Listland!!!!! Thanks and Regards to all, Bob. _________________________________________________________________ Use MSN Messenger to send music and pics to your friends http://www.msn.co.uk/messenger
