I think there was another change just after the ww1, to do with secondary education. By the turn of the century the school leaving age had risen to 11 years old. Then there was the Fisher Act 1918 which raised the leaving age to 14 years. The changes after WW2 would have been the Butler Acts. Leaving age was raised again, to 15 years, and at the age of 11 years pupils went on to a secondary school rather than stay at the same school throughout the education. I think this was also the time of the nit nurse, the school dentist, and free school milk. It's been a long time since I had to write about these social changes, so don't quote me on anything!!
