    3. Helen, i was born on the wirral of a catholic father and cof e mother i would say at least half the people were of irish catholic origins. The dock building in the 18 and 19 century was a big draw also the great famin in ireland sent over a million to uk most through liverpool. I am sure liverpool record office have figures but very few catholic church records have been copied and even less on line. I would be interested in any catholic church records for birkenhead.THANK YOU.
