Hi Ray more than likely on the ferry's or the tugs aif he went away to sea he would more than likely say he was a steward or engineer or give his specific job seamen were very proud of the callingor most of them , my cusin and uncle were both Stewards on the Empress Lines and both very proud of Ships.
