Stan Sorry for the delay in replying My CARTER family came to Liverpool and then Wallasey after 1901 but before 1917, I don't know exactly when. They lived in Aigburth for a while and moved to the Wirral. My family Grandfather worked for Carters seeds but I haven't found a connection other than a common surname. My Uncles (all born 1908 or earlier) were nearly all Cunard or White Star Seafarers of various ranks, but I believe my Uncle who drove for the CO-OP was the driver of the first vehicle through the Mersey Tunnel ( the old bendy one) but I have no proof or evidence of that. I have numerous cousins on the Wirral and in Australia and Canada. I don't think we have any common ground yet. By the way I was born in Tranmere.
