    3. Could anyone tell me any more about Claughton Higher Grade School? My grandmother attended this school in the late 1800's. I was under the impression that it was a girls' school, was it? Was it a private school? What grades would it have included? Was it completely demolished during the Blitz? Thanks for any new info I can learn about the school. 3. Claughton Higher Grade School was extensively damage in the Air Raid 12 / 13 March 1941. Brattan Road was razed to the ground. The school re-opened in the early 1950's and is known today as Christchurch C of E Primary.
