Hello I have a marriage certficate for the Parish Church in the parish of Birkenhead, dated 8th October 1874 for the marriage between David Blair a 25 year old bachelor and Mary Walker a 22 year old spinster. David was a joiner living at 8 Ridley Street, with his father noted as Robert Blair, a farmer. Mary Walker lived at what looks like 114 Oxton Road, with her father listed as William Walker, a Gentleman. The certificate was signed by what looks like Francis W.C. Rigby the curate, and by witnesses George Magee and Jane Edwards. I would be extremely grateful for any information about David Blair and Mary Walker. My wife is descended from them and we have been trying to find out more about them. Family "legend" has it that Mary Walker came from Ireland and was descended from Reverend George Walker who was involved in the Seige of Derry. We live in Scotland and so cannot easily visit to do our own research, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Andrew Murray (and Christine nee Blair)
