Does anyone have any info on where I might find a record of an unknown RN destroyer lost at sea on or about 2 May 1917? A family death notice just says 'one of HM destroyers'. Presumably, as a security measure, they were not allowed to publish such details. The sailor in question, who was lost on board, is unknown to CWGC and so not on their Debt of Honour Register. Although I have given them the details of his name and the date, CWGC have been unable to make a connection with any other casualties at that time or a lost RN vessel.
