    3. Hi Janet, You may have just solved a question for me. I have ancestors who were married in The Parish Church of Liverpool and their addresses at the time of marriage were Park Lane and Pitt St(?). Can you tell me if Pitt St(?) is anywhere near Park Lane or if it is in Liverpool or Birkenhead? I have other ancestors who married in the same church, as they are all mariners, but they lived in Birkenhead. Thanks for any light you can shed. Dorothy, Canada

    3. Park Lane, Liverpool was the address where David KIRKPATRICK "practised" in the years 1824 until his death in 1837. The husband of a second cousin of mine knows Liverpool well, having studied there, in the 50s, and he told me that at the time Park Lane was as "posh" as its namesake in London. David Kirkpatrick and his wife Elizabeth SILLER or SELLERS were married in 1818 in the Church of St. Peter, in the Parish of Liverpool. I have a copy of the Licence to marry which he signed and impressed a fingerprint, as did a witness I.M. Kirkpatrick, who I cannot identify. If anyone here has already helped me in this - thanks again - and please forgive me for repeating that I do no know why, for sure, they lived in Caldy and took their children to Liverpool to be baptised. I suspect a non conformist religion, or Presbyterian, Kirk of Scotland. 3. Hi To All. Regarding address of residence given at the time of marriage. I have two sets of G.G. Grandparents marrying in Liverpool and have not been able to make a connection to the addresses given at the time. In 1838 my people were married at Christ's Church, Hunter Street, Liverpool and both gave their address as Hanover Street, Liverpool (no number) Then in 1854 another couple were married at St Nicholas Church, Liverpool and both gave their address as Russell Street (no number) Both couples were non-conformists. In 1838 both parties of the first couple lived in Liverpool and then moved to Birkenhead. With the second couple (in 1854) the bride was from St Helens, and the groom b Scotland, lived in Liverpool in 1851. After the marriage they lived in St Helens. My thoughts were that both couples fulfilled the legal requirement to marry in a Church of England Church\Establishment and possibly had a second, ceremony in the Church of their own belief. I have not been able to place any relatives living in either Russell or Hanover streets, which is a disappointment. Does anyone have information on boarding houses or hotels in either of these streets in 1838 and 1854? Kind Regards, Anne. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
