    1. [BIRKENHEAD] Gravestones at St Oswald's Church, Bidston - MUTCH, STANLEY, WHARTON (also HALEWOOD, DAVIES, PLUNKETT)
    2. Susan Mutch
    3. I recently returned to the UK for a holiday and took the opportunity to go home and visit St Oswalds Church, Bidston to see if would help my research of the MUTCH family tree (inc. YOUDS, STANLEY, WHARTON). I took photos of the following gravestones which I've transcribed below. If these are any use to anyone and you would like a copy of the photos of any of the gravestones or of the church itself then please feel free to contact me and I'll forward on. Also I'm trying to track my ancestor Thomas Mutch (b. approx 1825 in Meols per various census reports) who was the son of a William Mutch, labourer, according to Thomas' marriage certificate to Mary Youds of 25 January 1852). Looking at the Cheshire Parish Register database online, Thomas could be the son of William Mutch and Margaret Parr as the location and dates seem to fit, however I can't be sure at present. Also I can't find any of them on the 1841 and 1851 census to help make the connection. If anyone has any further info on any of these people or any suggestions as to how I could confirm Thomas' parents as he was born pre 1837 I would love to hear from you. Anyway, here are the gravestone inscriptions mentioned (copied to the best of my ability but some were a little faint!): 1. Elizabeth, wife of Robert Mutch who died March 10th, 1890, aged 47.
