    3. Bob Many many thanks for the info. This is indeed the record I was looking for. "Susan Christie Duncan Walker" was my aunt's friend but I didn't know her full name or address before. Also to now have a date is useful for looking up newspaper reports. Not being in March or May could help in that respect. The name of the Dodd's was also new for me. I don't know about number 6. I could check that one out I guess. Number 23 was flattened and eventually rebuilt. My aunt returned to 21 several years later after extensive repairs. Thanks once again. Doug Robert Tennant <birkenheadtram@tiscali.co.uk> wrote: Doug, I think I have found your Aunty Christine, however, as in most cases when trying to research something which took place whilst people were under pressure there are conflicting reports. Here though is my search results on the reported deaths of three people in Clive Road Oxton on the night of 9th January 1941. No. 23 Clive Road, Fredrick John Dodd aged 63 was killed with his daughter, Freda Dodd aged 16. Susan Christie Duncan Walker aged 50 was killed at No. 21 Clive Road, but is listed as living at 160 Grange Road West, which is in easy walking distance of Clive road. Is this your Aunty? A very good publication called Birkenhead at War 1939 - 1945 refers to people being killed at No. 6 Clive Road but I consider that to be a mistake as only the above persons are listed as being killed at No.21/3 and this confirms your information Bob T. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Doug" To: Sent: Wednesday, March 08, 2006 10:32 AM Subject: [BKHD-Wirral] The Blitz > Many thanks to everyone who has taken the trouble to reply to my posting > regarding the Blitz in Birkenhead. > > Wendy- the Port Cities site you pointed me to was very interesting and > well illustrated.
