A combination of high tide and stormy weather. Luckily it happened overnight so no-one seriously hurt or killed Members of the inshore rescue had to be evacuated and I understand they lost vital expensive equipment The ferries from Birkenhead are having to dock at the Isle of Man berth for now Took a few more from Woodside on that day The Ferry Daffodil just arrived at Woodside _http://www.old-liverpool.co.uk/Daffodil.jpg_ (http://www.old-liverpool.co.uk/Daffodil.jpg) and just sailing away _http://www.old-liverpool.co.uk/Daffodil2.jpg_ (http://www.old-liverpool.co.uk/Daffodil2.jpg) Caryl In a message dated 14/03/2006 17:44:07 GMT Standard Time, barbarbarann@tesco.net writes: Hi Caryl, What happened to the landing stage? Is there a new one so the old one was taken away? Regards
Thanks for the different links, the 'History ' was interesting A factor which also played a part in the demise of the Landing Stage were the very low tides which followed, duly increasing the stresses on it. suzanne
