He passed it onto me and asked if I could track down the family of the soldier through the net. T To cut a long story short I subscribed to the Australia Rootsweb list (at www.rootsweb.com) and posted about the photo and how we would like to find the soldiers family and pass it on. SO many people wrote to me with helpful suggestions and addresses and through their help eventually we were able to give the photo to the soldiers family. The family including the soldiers brother aged 91 were thrilled both with the photo and information because we also sent off for the soldiers war record to the Australian archives. You could try this route of joining that list giving as much information as possible of the family's last known whereabouts in Australia, the list has subscribers from all parts of Australia and all over the world. Also there are newspapers in Australia that have "searching for" columns and pages, or even just a letter on the letters page might track them down, try an on-line search for newspapers for that area Alternatively- A friend of mine tracked down one of his lost relations by searching the on-line telephone directories for Australia, don't have that URL but I'm sure you could find it through a search engine such as www.google.com Hope this helps Caryl List Owner
