I have been searching for the origins of Anne James, daughter of William James. Anne married Thomas Lace in Birkenhead St.Mary's on August 25, 1852. At the time of her marriage she was living in Birkenhead. In 1861 Census she was living in Liverpool, Toxteth Park with her husband and family. She indicated she had been born in Liverpool. Would there have been a time that part of Liverpool was considered part of Birkenhead, or vice versa? Any suggestions appreciated.
