My grandfather, John Thomas GETHIN, who died in the 1950s, worked on the railways in Birkenhead. As I've been unsuccessful in discovering where he was born, I thought railway employees' records might help. Does anyone know which pre-British Rail companies he might have worked for? TIA. Dave Burton
