Hi My current (& only) Birkenhead puzzle is; I am looking for any information on a Laurence Daniel KIRBY, born about 1843, a barrister at law. >From his April 17, 1872 marriage certificate I know the following, Laurence lived at 82 Claughton Road (I think), Birkenhead. He married Louise MOUBERT age 20, of Garswood House, Ashton in Makerfield. They were married in St. Oswald's Chapel in Wigan. Laurence's father was an Edmund KIRBY (dec), a wine merchant. Louise's father was Adolphus MOUBERT of Garswood House, a land agent. Witnesses to the marriage were an Edmund KIRBY and a Joseph KIRBY. Adolphus was still living a Garswood House with about 4 servants in 1881 but Laurence and Louise seem to have vanished off the face of the earth or at the very least England in 1881. Either they had left the country or were missed in the 1881 census or at least from the LDS CDs of the 1881 census. Suggestions??? Thank you Don in Richmond, BC, Canada Aberdeenshire & maybe Banff???
