With regard to Cammell Lairds, I tried writing to their personnel department a few years ago, with no luck I'm afraid. I suspect that with several changes of ownership over the years and appointment of receivers from time to time that these sort of records could very well be lost, but like you I have various ancestors that worked in the yards, and would interested to hear if anybody else has got anywhere. Hello Phil, I am led to believe that Cammel-lairds records are held at the at the new archives facility at Birkenhead Town Hall.
