    2. Good Morning. I am new to this web site...... this is my first e-mail. I was born in Liverpool, quite some years ago, have lived in America for about 40 years. Have been into genealogy for about 5 years. Although I have made great progress during this time I am completely stumped with mother's family, in fact I'm at a great big "Brick Wall." Many of our family records/papers were destroyed during the blitz and also records in the registry offices. I am interested in the following names: Frederick William Nodin Briscoe - grandfather born 1869 in Bebington. Sarah Davey - grandmother born in 1870 in either New Ferry or Birkenhead Frederica Margaret Briscoe - daughter born about 1891, in Birkenhead...... I think. Ada Briscoe - daughter born about 1895, in Birkenhead........ I think. Helena Briscoe - daughter born 6th June 1898 (my mother) in Birkenhead. For sure. Dora Briscoe - daughter born about 1904......... Don't know where she was born. I'm also interested in the following names who are a part of the family: Nodin. Powley. Charlton. Robert Walker - my 2x great grandfather was head coachman for the Lord Mayor of Liverpool in the middle to late 1800s. Dawson. Dodd. Farrall. Chatton. Smith. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Bryan Briscoe-Smith. Colorado Springs. Colorado.

    3. Bryan, You have come to the right place! There are many people on the BIRKENHEAD website who can direct you in the right direction. While I am not related to any BRISCOE's, my FARRALL relatives came from the Bebington/Birkenhead area. My DAWSON relatives came from Liverpool and before that from Kendal. I would be interested in knowing what your interests were regarding surnames FARRALL and DAWSON - your list. 3. This may not be of much help to Bryan Briscoe-Smith but I have discovered a BRISCOE connection to my family in Bebington. I have not explored it because it is a bit on the periphery but he may get some clues from it. Ralph Briscoe Williams was born to George and Margaret Williams of Hr. Bebington. Margaret died after the birth in December 1878. According to the 1881 Census Ralph lived with his grandparents, Roger and Isabella, in Hr. Bebington while his father lived nearby with his other older children. In 1910 there was a child Leonard born to Ralph and his wife Margaret. This was around 1910. He was baptised at St. Marks Church, New Ferry and the family was living at 91 Cobden St., New Ferry. I shall be interested if you can tie in with this Briscoe as I haven't discovered where the name Briscoe comes in. Ralph's mother's name was Williams, the same as his father's. Perhaps it was her mother's name! DODD is another family name from New Ferry. My g. grandmother was Sarah DODD, born Primrose Hill in 1843. Her father came from Malpas and found employment in the brickworks. Hazel Fuller Devon DODD GO(U)LDSON LEDSOME/SHAM, OWENS, WHITE, WILLIAMS (all in Bebington and Storeton) ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Farrall" <jfarrall@cox.rr.com> To: <BIRKENHEAD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: 06 December 2001 10:37 Subject: Re: [BKHD] Brand New > Bryan, > You have come to the right place!
