George, Thank you for your reply. I have found it impossible to trace Hugh Jones back earlier than the 1881 census as there are so many of them of the right age both in Liverpool and in his place of birth. I only see him married or in lodgings and not with parents etc. David -----Original Message----- From: George HIGHTON [mailto:george.highton@btinternet.com] Sent: 12 April 2006 12:31 To: BIRKENHEAD-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [BKHD-Wirral] JONES - Seacombe Hi David I have an Ann Jones m. I am interested in making contact with anyone who has connections with the family of Hugh JONES and his wife Mary Ellen nee EVANS. Hugh was a tailor who was born at Holyhead in about 1854. Mary was born in Liverpool in 1858. Their first home was at Galton Street, Liverpool. They then moved to Tudor Avenue in Seacombe and later to Mersey View, Promenade, Seacombe. Their children who survived childhood were John, William Albert and Caroline born between 1886 and 1897. I have all the relevant census information. David

Hi John, If you have the year, quarter & reference then that is all you really need. If you put both names & get it wrong it will cost you about 4 pounds, which I found last year when cocky me put one wife's name with the groom's name & they emailed me to say it wasn't the correct couple. These days I rarely put both names when there is all that other info. Good luck.
